Successful Inmarsat BGAN HDR ( High Data Rate ) testing continues
Inmarsat have successfully extended testing on the EMEA satellite from London, Copenhagen and Portugal to Amsterdam and South Africa.
A full programme of testing will commence imminently over the AMER and APAC satellites and once this final phase has been completed, more precise performance figures will be communicated in the November update.
Based on the performance of EMEA testing to date, along with the anticipated results of the AMER and APAC test phase, we continue to expect streaming rates to be in the range of 650kbps.
Global CSI on track
BGAN HDR remains on schedule for global availability from the end of November 2013 with the EMEA region now included in the global CSI, after final phase testing over all three I-4 satellites has been completed.
Introductory offer
As a reminder, once BGAN HDR is launched globally, there will be an introductory offer running until 31 December 2013 under which the full channel services will be discounted.
We look forward to keeping you fully updated on the most significant service introduction since the launch of BGAN in 2005, as we move into the final stages of full BGAN HDR service delivery.
Kind regards,
